Man found dead, clothing still smoldering after apparent electrocution and fall

SAN ANTONIO - A young man was found dead with electrical burns and injuries from an apparent fall early Wednesday morning on the West Side.

Police and firefighters were called just before 5 a.m. to the area of Ruiz Street and North San Marcos Street after a passerby spotted what appeared to be a body on fire in the parking lot of the Kozy Corner Saloon.

When firefighters arrived, the man's clothing was still smoldering. They extinguished it and discovered the man was already dead.

Police said the man appeared to be in his early to mid-20s and had electrical burns along with injuries consistent with a fall.

Exactly what happened remains under investigation.
