The former US president revealed in May last year that he had been diagnosed with an “aggressive form” of prostate cancer.

 

Biden was the oldest person to win the US presidency at the time of his election in 2020, and his physical health and mental acuity drew scrutiny during his 2021 to 2025 term.

He and his White House advisers have faced intense criticism for allegedly concealing the extent of his problems, especially after he was forced to abandon his bid for re-election after a disastrous debate with his eventual successor, Donald TrumpHunter Biden said the diagnosis had been tough on the family.

“It’s really sad to watch,” he said. “The only thing that I’d say about my dad, about his health right now, is I wish he would complain more, because it’s not good.”
