My Son Found This in Our Yard… Do You Know What It Is? πŸ‘€πŸŒΏ πŸ‘‡ Check the comments

How did this bicycle dynamo work?

The dynamo was attached to the bicycle frame, right next to the wheel. A small roller rested against the tire. When you pedaled, the wheel turned, and with it the roller, thus generating electricity.

This electricity directly powered the bicycle light. The faster you pedaled, the brighter the light. When you stopped, the light went out.

The distinctive little noise of the dynamo against the wheel was almost an integral part of the journey, and I still remember it today.
